BIAB is one of the longest-lasting nail systems out there, but how you treat it between appointments makes a real difference. With the right aftercare you can comfortably get three to four weeks from a single set.
Use cuticle oil every day
This is the single most important habit. Daily cuticle oil keeps the nail and surrounding skin hydrated, which keeps the BIAB flexible and far less likely to lift or crack. Keep a bottle by your bed and make it part of your evening routine.
Protect your hands
- Wear gloves for washing up and cleaning — hot water and harsh chemicals are the enemy of long-lasting gel.
- Avoid using your nails as tools to open or scrape things; reach for a proper tool instead.
- Be gentle when typing and handling keys, which is where most chips and lifts begin.
Book your infill in good time
Rather than letting your BIAB grow out fully and risk it lifting, book an infill at around the two-to-three week mark. An infill refreshes the regrowth area and effectively resets the clock on your manicure.
